Trump: ‘Remember what Cruz said in 2005 but ignore what I said in 2012’

Donald Trump is on the attack, as always, pointing to Ted Cruz’s support of Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts in 2005. What he won’t defend or even acknowledge is his own support for Hillary Clinton for the last three decades, including many loving words in 2012.

Here are the scenarios: Cruz supported a judge who was nominated by a Republican President to be the Chief Justice over ten years ago. This is fair game to Trump who wants you to somehow believe this makes Cruz a moderate. However, it’s “unfair” in his opinion if you bring up his unending support for the Clintons, including a strong endorsement of her character, policies, and actions in Benghazi less than three years ago.

Trump’s perspective on fairness are skewed. Here’s the video:

To those who believe that Trump has evolved like lightning, you’re being fools. You’re sheep. I hate to get insulting of anyone, particularly my fellow Republicans, but I can’t sit back and play nice any longer. Donald Trump is not a conservative. He never has been and just because he’s turned to the far right on the singular issue of immigration doesn’t make him suddenly forgivable for decades of absolute support for liberal agendas. He is partially responsible for giving us Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, and yes, Hillary Clinton.

I understand that Donald Trump is arguably the greatest salesman we’ve ever seen running for President. That doesn’t give you an excuse to listen to his Pied Piper call and follow him over the edge of the cliff, taking the Republican party (and therefore America) with you. Your blind faith for a man who has done more to hurt this country and the Republican party than most influential Democrats is completely unacceptable. Wake up!

If Trump’s supporters, particularly those who claim to be conservative, took a look at his economic, military, and infrastructure policies, they would see that he is left of Clinton on almost every issue outside of immigration. They don’t want to hear that. They believe that securing the border is the only issue that matters. They are willing to allow liberal politics to reign for four more years as long as they get the wall built. The funny part is that under a Trump Presidency, we wouldn’t have to build a wall. Illegal immigrants will no longer want to cross the border because his economic plan is so bad that they’ll be better off staying south of the border.

Trump shouldn’t be bringing up John Roberts as a way to attack Cruz, but if he wants to go back over a decade, so be it. Let’s look at what “conservative” Trump was saying around the same time period.

His supporters latch onto idiotic memes in comments and believe him wholeheartedly when he says, “my recent past as a liberal puppetmaster is unimportant – I’ll make America great again because I’m a winner.” You are a joke. If he gets the nomination and his great friend Hillary Clinton beats him, YOU will be to blame for this debacle.
