It’s hard to imagine that a Super PAC supporting Hillary Clinton, Priorities USA, would put out a pro-Cruz television ad, but they did. That wasn’t their intention, of course, but it’s humorous that their attempts at attacking him are all essentially positives in the minds of nearly all Republicans and a good chunk of Independents as well. There might even be some Democrats who find his perspectives appealing based upon the ad.
Let’s take a look at “America on Cruz Control” point by point and see if you agree.
- Prosecute Planned Parenthood
- Social Security is a Ponzi scheme
- Eliminate the Departments of Commerce, Energy, and Education as well as the IRS and HUD
- The 2013 government shutdown was worth it
- Don’t take away our guns
Four out of five of these points are easily supportable. The government shutdown might still be argued as detrimental by some, but they’ll never be able to convince us that it prevented Republicans from taking control of the Senate since a year later they did just that.
It may not have been their intention to support Ted Cruz, but by golly that’s pretty much exactly what they’ve done.
