Why True Faith is So Important this Election Cycle

Those of us who are old enough to remember “the good ol’ days” remember what it was like to live in an America where religious liberty wasn’t really an issue. The questions that surrounded religious liberty were really designed to make sure that religions outside of the Judeo-Christian family were allowed to express themselves, but it would never cross our minds that Christianity itself would be attacked. We were naive.

We all witnessed the short-term conversion of America that made it more common to hear “happy holidays” rather than “Merry Christmas,” but many of us didn’t expect the rapid shift that we’re seeing today. The rapid degradation of our religious freedoms has hit a fever pitch just in the last four or five years. While some were questioning the faith of President Obama, most accepted that it wasn’t that important, that a President could not direct the philosophical shift of the entire nation.

Again, we were wrong. I applaud those who saw it coming and I now realize that it’s the most important consideration in determining the future of this country.

To turn this ship around and bring us back into the true level of prominence that the country and the rest of the world needs, it is imperative that we have a President that is truly driven by faith. We’ve seen what happens when we have a President that goes to church sometimes but spends time in speeches talking down about the Bible. We’ve seen what happens when we have a President that bows to Muslim leaders. The only way we can make this trend stop is to be assured that our next President holds faith at the highest regard, not just something used in campaign speeches in front of certain audiences.

It’s not our place to declare which candidates we feel are currently not driven by faith. We will, however, say that Ted Cruz is clearly driven by faith while Ben Carson and Marco Rubio seem to hold faith at their core. There are other lesser candidates that also seem to be faith-driven, but they aren’t going to be able to win. Cruz, Carson, or Rubio all have the ability to win the nomination and the White House.

The only true way to make America great again is to turn back to our roots as a Judeo-Christian nation and bring values back to the White House.
