Donald Trump is known for speaking his mind. That’s his strength. However, this time his big mouth has proven to disappoint as he lies his way through another insult, this time against Carly Fiorina. For once, I’m disappointed that he didn’t tell the truth about speaking his mind.
For those who don’t know, Trump claimed that based upon her face, people wouldn’t want to vote for Fiorina. That’s part of Trump’s no-filter MO that has made him popular. However, he backtracked. He started telling lies about what he was really trying to say rather than coming out and saying, “Yes, I said that and to me someone’s appearance should be appealing enough to inspire voters.” Or something like that.
Instead, he lied.

There are two scenarios here. Either he has an utter inability to communicate what he really means since his words can only be construed by an intelligent individual in one way or he is so scared of the mess his mouth made that he decided it was best to start lying directly to the American public by claiming that he didn’t mean what he said. Scenario one means that he doesn’t possess the communication skills necessary to be Commander-in-Chief. Scenario two means that he feels the general American public is too stupid to see through his lies.
Unfortunately, scenario two is likely the reason behind his backtracking and it’s also likely true if you look at the polling numbers. He is appealing to those who do not consider integrity to be an important trait for the Presidency. We will see if that represents the majority of Republicans soon enough.
