Boston’s new favorite person: U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman

Very few people saw it coming. U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman has denied the NFL’s Management Council’s motion to confirm the award of New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady’s four-game suspension for the #deflategate scandal during this year’s playoffs and Super Bowl. As a result, the star is able to play the first game next week.

Boston has found a new hero.

This makes the NFL and particularly Commissioner Roger Goodell look very bad.

News is going viral with SportsCenter’s tweet getting tens of thousands of retweets and favorites.

Brady is even getting praise from Presidential candidate Donald Trump.

This isn’t just bad for the commissioner and good for Brady. This changes the way that the NFL will have to enforce its rules and investigate infractions. The biggest winner in all of this (other than Boston) is the NFL Players’ Association.
