Matthew 5:10
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
With so much happening in Muslim, Communist, and atheist countries and regions around the world, it’s often easy for those of us in more Christian-friendly countries to weep for those who are being persecuted for their beliefs. With Christians facing jail and death in Pakistan and other Christians facing even harsher treatment in Syria, our human nature pities them.
Pity them not, but rejoice for their strength and perseverance in the face of such hardship is rewarded in Heaven!
It is much harder for them to practice their faith in this life when faced by such troubles but those who are able to stay strong in their belief in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will be held in high regard in Heaven.
