Genesis 2:6 – a mist from the earth

Genesis 2:6

Genesis 2:6

But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

This single verse is subtle but lays down an important aspect from a scientific perspective of the world during the time of creation. While it’s impossible to know exactly what happened or what this looked like at the time, it’s clear that the world is made in a way that has symbiosis present throughout. This can’t happen without that, which can’t happen without that, which can’t happen without that… so on and so forth.

The fact that God kept life growing in the early days before the mechanisms were in place to sustain life point to an omnipotence of course, but more importantly it points to rules that he set forth in this universe that He did not break. In other words, he made it scientifically viable for this life to exist while the sustaining mechanisms were still being formed.
