Senator asks President why Obamatrade is being hidden from Americans

There has been a strange alliance between many Republicans in Congress and President Obama when it comes to the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Most of the Presidents biggest critics have supported giving him fast-track powers while his own party has been opposed. It has been a strange situation and now it’s getting a little stranger.

Senator Jeff Sessions from Alabama, the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest, has posted a letter to the President asking a simple question: why is there so much secrecy pertaining to the TPP? Why is “Obamatrade” shielded the majority of citizens and politicians while many business leaders around the world seem to be participating in the discussions?

Breitbart posted the letter:

“On May 6th of this year, I sent you a letter (enclosed) regarding your request for Congress to grant you fast-track executive authority,” Session wrote to Obama on Friday in a letter provided exclusively to Breitbart News ahead of its public release. “Under fast-track, Congress transfers its authority to the executive and agrees to give up several of its most basic powers.
