2008 video of Trump gushing over Hillary shows why you can’t believe anything he says

Today, Donald Trump goes after everything that has to do with Hillary Clinton. He’s been accused of being hypocritical in his attacks since he was admittedly a friend of the Clintons for decades, but he claims that he never really discussed much about their politics.

A newly uncovered interview from 2008 paints a very different story.

“I think she’s going to go down at a minimum as a great Senator,” he said. “I think she is a great wife to a President and I think Bill Clinton was a great President.”

It’s important to understand that this was not Trump simply being polite to friends. He laid down praise on top of praise in an attempt to prove his case that the Clinton years were wonderful and Hillary deserves more. He went so far as to point out specifics with the economy and foreign relations that made it clear he approved of Bill Clinton’s actions and leadership.

It’s also important to note that the majority of Trump’s attacks against the Clintons are for things that they did before 2008, things that were already well-known about them. He didn’t completely reverse his tune during this election season based upon new information. He simply needs to attack her, so whatever his real feelings are towards them aren’t important.

You can see the video from the source at NY1 here, or you can watch this video apparently ripped from CNN (sorry if it’s taken down before you get to see it, but there are no other quality videos available on YouTube):
