The Left is Grasping at Straws Trying to Bring Down Ted Cruz

From monkey cartoons to hit pieces so weak they barely register as making an impact, the left is getting desperate in their attacks against Ted Cruz. The thought that he could actually be the GOP Presidential nominee has them scrambling for any ammunition they can muster to keep that from happening.

The biggest problem they face is a candidate who has impeccable values compared to their frontrunner Hillary Clinton. A clear distinction can be made between the two and that’s not the case with other GOP candidates who have had major flip flops and have displayed liberal tendencies in the past. Cruz stands alone as the consistent conservative and this is the type of contrast that the Democrats fear the most.

Their hope isn’t to try to beat Cruz head-to-head with Clinton. He has gone from being 15% behind her earlier this year to being the only GOP candidate who wouldn’t lose to her in a general election matchup. Their hope is to keep him from being the nominee in the first place, which is why we expect to see attacks coming hard and often from both the direct left as well as left-leaning mainstream media. There’s also a very good chance that the Republican Establishment will eventually decide to get behind a single moderate candidate; Marco Rubio and Chris Christie are the likely beneficiaries of their desperate attempt to put up another Dole/McCain/Romney type of candidate.

Here’s their problem. Cruz isn’t perfect, but he’s the only one who has risen in the polls by staying true to the same beliefs he’s espoused his entire career. Other candidates have flip-flopped recently. Still others have gone so far as to support the Clintons, President Obama, and Democratic candidates financially in the past. Only Cruz has been a full-blown conservative Republican.

They will try to paint him as weak on national security. They will try to paint him as weak on immigration. They’re even trying to paint him as weak on gay marriage. In other words, they’re grasping at straws. They’ll do anything they can to keep him from being the nominee even if it means supporting the “lesser of two evils” in their minds: Donald Trump. They know they can beat Trump. They’re not sure they can beat Cruz.

The last thing the left wants to see is a principled conservative going against a diabolical Clinton. They will do whatever they can to make Republicans tear each other apart before and during the primaries. Unless you want to see another Clinton in the White House, it’s time to be discerning and see through the media’s upcoming lies.
