We Hate to Admit it but Bush was Right About Iraq

George W Bush

We’ve been very critical of George W Bush in the past (mostly because we thought he was too liberal) but we have to give him kudos for predicting the mess we’re in now. In a speech from July 12, 2007, the President was defending his proposal for a surge in Iraq and discussing what could happen if we pulled out completely like many were requesting at the time.

Here’s the video:

As we’re now faced with the repercussions of President Obama’s withdrawal from the country, it’s clear that everything that Bush predicted back then has come true today. Now, we’re faced with another military campaign, one that has the President sneering at Congress over his powers to do what he wants in an attempt to draw attention to the fact that he is directly responsible for the current situation, the rise of the Islamic State, the persecution of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, and the deaths of tens of thousands of Iragis and Syrians. Then, there are the beheadings of two American journalists and promises of more to come.

We do not like to jump on the bandwagon of bashing the President over his multitude of immense failures, but this qualifies as one that deserves our wrath. He has already surpassed Bush as being the worst two-term president in the history of our country and is gunning for the title of worst President, period. We worried about the world that he would leave for the next President. Now, we’re worried whether or not we’re going to make it long enough to see another President.
