But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:1 Peter 3 15 (KJV)
Anyone who takes the Bible seriously has been faced with an occasion to properly spread the Gospel, to answer questions from those who are seeking them. Sometimes, it can be very daunting since we can feel the weight of the responsibility. Other times, we fall short in our explanations because of animosity or doubt that we feel creeping in from the person we’re speaking to and translating over to us.
It is not for us to have all the answers, but it’s important to be prepared to allow the right answers to flow through us. It can be very challenging to let it go, to allow the Holy Spirit to speak through us and answer questions in ways that our minds would never be able to express on our own. The best preparation is to know the truth of the Bible, reading it always and praying constantly. Only then will we have the understanding that our words are always going to be inadequate but His Word is perfect.
