1 Corinthians 10:13 – ‘temptation’

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV)

God never said there would be no temptations. He even knew that we could be tempted before our first temptation, warning Adam and Eve to not eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. He knew it was beautiful and that they would want to eat it, so it only took a little coaxing by the serpent to appeal to their desires.

With that said, we are always equipped with an escape. Free will works in both directions. We can choose to do rightly and we can choose to follow temptation. We are never in a situation where succumbing to temptation is the only option.
