Quick Reminder of Abundance versus Repentance

Adolf Hitler

There are certain opinions that need to be refreshed, warnings that need to be spoken over and over again over time. They normally refer to one of those nagging, continuous challenges that require a new warning posted every now and then. This is one of those times.

The subject is the abundance “gospel” most often invoked by Joel Osteen.

(NOTE: Before anyone believes that I’m comparing Joel Osteen to Adolf Hitler based upon the image above, I’m not. I’m comparing every person to Adolf Hitler.)

He will likely never change unless he is moved upon by Divinity. The reason he cannot see the damage he is doing to Christians and potential Christians is because he gets praise for his good deeds on a non-stop basis. People love his words because they speak about this life. They speak about living well today. They speak of all of the positive messages in the Bible and ignore the actual instructions and warnings.

Some would say that he is in it for the money. That might be the case but if I were forced to make a guess, I would say that the money is just a side benefit for him. He adores the attention. He believes he is really helping people. He believes this because people tell him all the time that he is helping them. Unfortunately, they only believe this because they aren’t properly exposed to the full Word of God.

This life is not one that is supposed to be enjoyed. From the time that Adam ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, we were condemned to live a hard life. That’s not to say that we cannot enjoy aspects of our lives. That’s not to say that God wants us to suffer. It simply means that we are flawed, sinful creatures and we have been given a second chance to live eternally with our Adonai by embracing Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

Everything else, the wealth, the fun, the frolic, the pleasures – they are simply distractions.

Adolf Hitler was a man who allowed the evils of his heart to manifest themselves in his real world. He had the cunning (and possibly some help from Satan) to make much of his sinful nature extend beyond his mind into the real world. In the video below, you’ll hear a concept that if we could take an hour’s worth of the thoughts that cross our minds on a daily basis and put it into video, that we would be shamed by even our closest friends and family for the evil that runs through our brains. If you thought about it honestly, you would know that this is true.

It’s an old video that compares and contrasts the messages of Joel Osteen and Paul Washer, but again, there’s a need from time to time to reiterate a message. This one is overdue.
