However, should an owner choose to use regular fuel, they will not be severely disappointed when they pull 421 horsepower and 365 lb.-ft. of torque out of this monster. The fuel economy give up, which is also paired with the eight-speed transmission, comes in at a still respectable 15 city/23 hwy mpg which is very strong for a massive V8 engine.

Some of these features include a sun roof, a leather –trimmed dashboard and door panels, a power rear sun shade, navigation system, a rearview camera, lane-departure warning system and adaptive headlights which swivel into corners. Add to this the amazing sound of a Lexicon audio system with LOGIC7 technology offering surround sound and 17 speakers with more than 500 watts of power for massive sound.

With most luxury vehicles the price tag is expected to start well over $60,000, but with the 2014 Hyundai Genesis the base price is just over $36,000 and only reaches up to $48,300 with a fully loaded R-Spec model, making the 2014 Hyundai Genesis one of the most affordable luxury vehicles on the market today.

The Normalization of Gay Marriage through Common Association

Pumping Gas

In mathematics, normalization means adjusting values between different data sets to bring them to a common scale. It allows for statistics to be viewed together in a way that makes more sense. In essence, it makes them more acceptable.

That’s what’s happening today with gay marriage. Anyone who believes that it’s not the norm to accept gay marriage is missing the trends. It doesn’t matter how hard the opposition fights. This battle has already been lost. One of the biggest reasons is the brilliant methodology of strategies used by proponents of gay marriage. They’re assuming victory and have achieved it as a result. It will not take long for nearly all states to allow gay marriage. In six years, the concept of gay marriage has gone from widely unaccepted (even by our liberal president who was against it in the beginning of his first term) to holding a majority of support.

The infographic below is a perfect example of the tactics that have been used. By associating laws that ban gay marriage with laws that ban things such as pumping your own gas, the Huffington Post has normalized the scale. They have classified gay marriage bans as unnecessary. It’s just one of the reasons that they have won.

Is Allah Actually Baal?

Kaaba Stone

The Bible, both in the Old Testament as well as the Book of Revelation in the New Testament, refer to a god called Baal. Some believe that there are correlations between Baal and the Muslim god, Allah. Some even believe that Allah is just a modern name for the same entity.

To Muslims, the answer is clearly “no”. Baal is mentioned separately in the Quran.

“And Elias was most surely of the messengers, he asked his people: ‘do you not fear (God)?, will ye call upon Baal and forsake the best of creators, God is your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients. but they rejected him, and they will certainly be called up (for punishment), except the sincere and devoted servants of God (among them), and we left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times, peace be upon Elias.”

—Qur’an, Sura 37, Ayat 123-130

In the video below, the contention is that Baal is manifested today as Allah. We have no idea if this is true, but the video makes for an interesting watch.

Is Iran’s Nuclear Program Targeting the US?

Iran Nuclear Program

Despite protestations by both Iran and some in the United States, the majority of Americans believe that the Middle East country is building their nuclear program for the sake of creating weapons. This is likely the case. However, where most Americans likely get the situation wrong is with the target. Most assume that Israel would be the victim of a nuclear Iran, but there is growing concern that the United States would actually be the recipient of a nuclear attack from Iran.

To their leaders, the United States is the “Big Satan”. Israel is the “Little Satan”. Their primary goal is not the destruction of Israel but rather the consolidation of power in the Muslim world with a major secondary goal of destroying the sinful western way of life represented most heavily by America. Destruction of Israel is something that they want, but it’s not their biggest challenge. If they can eliminate their foes in the Muslim world and prevent America from interfering, Iran believes that the destruction of Israel will be easy.

It isn’t in the ability to launch nuclear missiles that will make Iran such a threat. That is actually more challenging than most understand. What is easier is to utilize the open-door policy at the southern border of the United States to smuggle in portable nuclear weapons to be detonated in the country. It is a more likely scenario than trying to breach Israel’s defenses through missile attack and it is more difficult to smuggle into Israel than it is to smuggle into the United States.

In the video below, Gary Stearman and Yoram Ettinger discuss this scenario and the reasons why Americans should be more concerned about Iran than even the Israelis.

Are Bible Codes Real?

Bible Code

There are many types of codes in the Bible. One of the most controversial in discussion in recent years are the equidistant letter sequences that some claim demonstrate a divinity in the words as well as the structure of the Bible. Sir Isaac Newton believed in them. Today, millions believe that it’s real as well. This brings up two questions:

  1. Is the phenomenon something that can be duplicated in other books? In other words, is it really a divine code?

  2. If it is a code, what does it mean to us?

Rather than being informative or teaching about it, we’re asking for help. What is the reality of these Bible Codes?

For those who don’t know about them, the idea is that by skipping set numbers of characters in the Hebrew Bible, particularly in the Torah, certain messages can be found. For example, one of the most famous and simple ones shows that the first two books of the Bible have an equidistant letter sequence that spells the law, Torah, while the same skip pattern in books 4 and 5 work, only in reverse. Much like a menorah, the four books on either side of Leviticus point to it with an equidistant letter sequence spelling the name of God.

It’s an interesting and provocative occurrence, but is it coincidence? There are plenty of other examples and the scientific community is torn on whether it’s valid or not.

The first question is obvious – real or not. The second question, in our opinion, is simple as well, though more profound. If it really is a code, is it something that we’re supposed to decipher in an effort to read more about our Lord, or is it a sign of validation, a final proof of creation that God put in there for the sake of allowing the information to come out at the right time immediately before the end times.

Again, we want feedback on this one. The video below is old and definitely leans towards making the Bible Code a real phenomenon, but it’s still relevant. What do you think?

The Pope is Literally Kissing Babies

Pope Kissing Babies

It’s a cliche. It’s something that is said about someone running for office or trying to garner popularity amongst an audience. When Pope Francis goes around and literally starts kissing babies, it makes headlines.

He is definitely not the Pope that people have been used to since the death of John Paul II. Francis is positioning himself as modern, progressive, and open minded – a Pope of the people. He is trying to reach more than the Catholic church. He’s going for the whole world. He’s even taking to social media.

According to NY Daily News:

He first posed for selfies with youngsters from Brazil who had carried a large cross into the square and then hopped from his vehicle when he spotted Polish kids clamoring for their own photos.

Flight, Diversity, and Other Reasons Creation Makes Sense

Hummingbird Eating

We normally try to avoid apologetics. It’s not that there’s anything wrong with it, really. It’s just that we believe that the knowledge of God and His Creation are part of all of us and trying to prove or justify it with arguments rather than embracing the faith of truth within us is not the right path for us. However, we sometimes succumb to the urge to help others find that reasoning within by dismissing the false teachings that often come with scientific explanations.

This particular video is pretty good. While we won’t call it great at what it’s trying to accomplish, namely pointing to things that happen in the world and in nature that point squarely towards an impossibility of evolution and randomness in the universe, we do appreciate much of what it said in it. Of particular interest is the hummingbird and the way that its body is strong evidence against the possibility of random chance forming this majestic creature. It doesn’t do what it does through pure evolution. Mutation to get to its current form is absurd. It’s an easy pointer towards creation.

The rest of the video is worth a watch as well, but when it starts talking about birds, take special note. Here’s the video:

Is Bible Prophecy in the Middle East Unfolding Now?

Middle East Prophecy

Many, particularly the younger generation in America and around the world, has grown up knowing that the Middle East has always been in turmoil. History books, religious books, commentaries, and news reports show an incessant strife that would easily make one believe that there’s nothing special about what’s happening in the Middle East today. It’s all the way it has always been. Muslims hate Jews and Christians. Jews hate Muslims. Muslims hate other Muslims. There’s always fighting. It might seem like “business as usual” in the epicenter of world religion.

This may not be the case. We may have “eased into” this perspective over the decades in a way that has us desensitized to the reality that things really are on the verge of exploding into events that may be leading up to the prophecies in Ezekiel, Isaiah, and Psalms, amongst others. It all seems to be heading in the right direction to make this a reality. In other words, we may have been lulled into believing it’s simply more of the same to hide the fact that the current and upcoming events are truly Biblical in nature.

Nobody can know for sure until it happens, but we have been warned to look for the signs. This warning is one intended to help those with their eyes open recognize, prepare, and act. While action and preparation are often translated into a “head for the hills” or “hunker down” mentality that has preppers and conspiracy theorists building compounds and storing ammunition, that’s not the type of preparation that we’re intended to make. If this age of man is coming to a close, now more than ever we must be spiritually prepared. Gentiles must embrace Yeshua and spread the Word. Jews must accept Yeshua and likewise spread the word. These are the true preparations that we all should be making.

One of the biggest challenges that believers face is in accepting these realities without being lured into a focus on the outside world. It’s interesting! Even those with their eyes open to the truth will often get sucked back into the news, not just to look for signs but also to get a feel for other things that are happening. Do what you can to stay focused, to read your Bible daily, and to reveal it to those who would listen. It’s that important.

Here’s a video from The Watchmen. While we don’t necessarily support the views of the organization, the concepts in the video, or those delivering the message, we feel it’s a perfect example of what we may need to expect in the coming days. It also mentions the Blood Moon Tetrad coming up, something that we have discussed often ourselves here at Judeo Christian Church.

A Decade Ago in Tech Advertising

A decade ago in tech advertising

It’s hard to believe how far we’ve come in the world of technology. Today, you can store tons of data on a tiny thumb drive (gigabytes compared to the 128 megabytes in the image above) and we can do it for much cheaper than ever before.

This ad from a decade ago should bring back some nostalgia and perhaps even make you cringe to realize that it was almost impossible to conceive how those little devices could hold so much. Today, they are completely obsolete.

The First Blood Moon of the Tetrad is Coming

First Blood Red Moon

On April 15, 2014, the first of the blood moon tetrad of 2014-2015 will be in the sky. This is going to be well-covered by the media and there will be many looking to the sky and around the world for more signs.

Those signs will likely not be seen. It isn’t that there is no significance to the Tetrad. It’s important. However, people must not let the hype of this event be anything like the Mayan calendar, Y2K, or any of the other “disappointments” in prophecy. As with previous blood moons that surrounded major events for Israel, this is likely a sign of the time rather than being an event surrounding a particular day or hour.

While all of this is both terrifying and exciting, we cannot take our eye off of our mission on the world. We must accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We must share this knowledge with as many people as we’re able to touch. If we focus on these things and keep our eyes open about the other other things, we should be fine. Our hype should be about Yeshua. The signs and times should encourage us all to push even further forward without being distracted.

The Hypocrisy of Tolerance

Brendan Eich

The topic has already been discussed by religious and conservative publications ad nauseam, but that doesn’t mean that the issue is exhausted. What has happened over the last couple of weeks to gay marriage organizations and companies that opposed Brendan Eich’s promotion to CEO at Mozilla is pure hypocrisy and more Americans need to see it for what it is.

On one side of their mouth, they push for the rights of citizens to be able to express their feelings towards another citizen through the ultimate form of bonding without retribution. From the other side of their mouth, they’re saying that one cannot oppose the opinion without receiving retribution. They are asking for an open debate as long as the debate leans in their direction.

Eich donated $1000 to support Proposition 8 in California. This donation was less damaging to their cause than what candidate Barack Obama did the same year when he said that he believed that marriage was defined as being between a man and a woman, yet they supported him as their candidate and they, for the most part, supported him as their president.

This statement was made at the same time that Eich made his donation. The difference is that they’ve been able to bully the American people and their politicians into accepting their side of the debate. It is likely that a majority of states will allow gay marriage in the very near future and polls show that a majority of Americans are for it.

Tolerance has to be a two way street or it’s not tolerance. If Eich demonstrated discrimination against homosexuals in his workplace, that’s an issue that they could attack with justification. However, his donation and forced resignation as a result sends a terrible message to businesses across the country.

Had Mozilla hired or promoted someone who donated $1000 to a cause that supported gay marriage, they would not have had to deal with a potential boycott. However, their actions to dismiss someone based upon their political beliefs is a poor move and one that does warrant action, not just from those who are opposed to gay marriage but from those who believe that our freedoms cannot be taken away. Today, if you are against gay marriage, you are at risk of losing your job. That’s an extremely dangerous concept, one that does not empower freedom in a country that is supposed to be leading the way.

Open debate is about fighting an issue, not an individual. This has now been made into a personal issue. Regardless of which side of the fence you’re on when it comes to gay marriage, you should be against the idea of vilifying an individual for their beliefs when those beliefs are supposed to be protected in this country. The forced resignation of Eich must not be seen as a victory by the gay rights community. This is a statement that sends the wrong message about their cause:

“You must be tolerant of us but we will not be tolerant of you.”

It takes us down the wrong path regardless of your opinions on gay marriage.
