As of the time of this article, the US government has not reached out to Pamela Geller to discuss the threats she has received from an ISIS-backed set of accounts. These online profiles claim that they have 71 jihadis ready to execute the controversial activist and blogger over he history of anti-Muslim sentiment and more specifically the “Draw Muhamamd” event she helped organize in Texas that ended in the death of two jihadis earlier this week.
This should not be the case. Whether she deserves protection or not from a philosophical perspective, an organization known for killing people over their beliefs has made a threat against a US citizen. The FBI should be involved. Homeland Security should be involved. It’s an utter failure by multiple government agencies to let Geller address this alone. Granted, they’re definitely investigating it, but they should be in contact with her. Otherwise, they’re using her as bait and that’s not right.

On Fox News, Gellar appeared with Imam Anjem Choudary, a London-based Muslim leader known for extremely conservative views on the promotion of sharia law. This includes support for Gellar’s execution.
