The Real Facts About Measles that Mainstream Media Doesn’t Want You to Hear

For once, we would love to take the politics out of a debate and turn it strictly to science. The recent controversy surrounding measles, vaccinations, and parental rights doesn’t even need our conservative spin. Common sense and facts are enough to debunk misconceptions.

The mainstream media is promoting the agenda of mandatory vaccinations thanks to an outbreak of measles at Disneyland. They are using a combination of scare tactics, name calling, and mass programming to push this agenda. We won’t discuss why this is the case – that’s for conspiracy theorists to decode. However, we are extremely concerned about the methodology behind the selection of statistics they promote.

One of the most common statistics that is being used today, seen in 8 out of 22 articles we reviewed, is that there were 146,000 measles-related deaths worldwide in 2013. This can make for a very compelling argument to scare people into supporting mandatory vaccines. What they never mention (and by never, I mean zero of the articles we reviewed) is that the US numbers before vaccinations were introduced put the risk of death from measles at less than 1/10th of 1%.

According to the Oxford Journal of Infectious Diseases (an organization that supports vaccinations):

By the late 1950s, even before the introduction of measles vaccine, measles-related deaths and case fatality rates in the United States had decreased markedly, presumably as a result of improvement in health care and nutrition.

Don’t get me wrong – we aren’t trying to downplay the importance of anyone’s death. Ideally, nobody would die from a disease, but this is not the tremendous killing machine that the mainstream media makes it out to be. We would save exponentially more children’s lives by mandating vegetable intake or outlawing chocolate than by mandating measles vaccines (not that we would support any mandates on vegetables or chocolate, either).

Another important fact that mainstream media seems oblivious to (by choice) is that the vaccine doesn’t always work. They are quick to note a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that from January 1-May 23, 2014, measles outbreaks rose considerably over preview years. What they won’t tell you is that over 10% of those cases were confirmed to be vaccinated and 20% had an uncertain vaccination status.

The people who are pushing hardest for measles vaccinations to “save the children” are often the same people who are pro-abortion. It’s a hypocrisy that is so grotesque that words won’t do it justice, but we’ll try. Here’s a Tweetable fact:

This isn’t to say that measles vaccinations are bad! However, it definitely should not be mandated.

The Risk of Conspiracy Theories to Christians

There’s a saying that is wrongly attributed to ancient Arab teachings that “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.” It’s an idea that consciously or unconsciously pulls many Christians into the world of conspiracy theories. I know. I did it myself.

For most, it’s not even an issue. Christians who are rooted in their faith and focused on their family likely do not get involved with fringe, alternative news or conspiracy theory websites. Part of it is because many conspiracy theories get debunked, but that can’t be the whole of it. There are many conspiracy theories that turn out to be absolutely correct.

Had you told Americans just two years ago of a conspiracy theory that their government had complex and universal methods of collecting data on them as well as peoples and leaders from around the world, the majority would have dismissed you as a tin-foil-hat-wearing loony. Then, Edward Snowden demonstrated that it was happening in June, 2013.

The other part of the reason that most Christians don’t get involved is that the phrase “conspiracy theory” has such a negative connotation in modern society. There are so many insane conspiracy theorists out there being guided by their delusions to do crazy things that the association has become unwanted.

Still, we are told to fight for the faith and many of the things that oppose the faith are also opposed by conspiracy theorists. This creates the conundrum.

‘Conflicting’ Doctrine

There is a perceived disconnect that many will point to in the New Testament that can confuse believers as it pertains to conspiracy theories. Let’s take a look at each:

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.Romans 12:2 (KJV)

This tells us, in essence, that we should not be mindful of this world but of the Kingdom of God and the Will of our Lord. There are many verses that echo the same sentiment and tell us that we shouldn’t concern ourselves with the deceptions and evil forces that are against us. However…

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)

This chapter of the Bible details persecutions, challenges that were faced at the time, and problems that we face even today. It is, in many ways, a call to fight against the powers that are against us and could be used as a call to action for Christian conspiracy theorists.

In reality, there’s no contradiction at all. Part of the doctrine to not be of this world means we must fight the temptations, distractions, and manipulations that surround us. Unless someone has the complete and bold faith to let completely go of this world and to be nurtured only by our Father, we have an adversary that can only be defeated by the Armor of God.

And that’s the whole point.

Awareness versus Action versus Addiction

You must be aware. There’s no way to get around that. It’s possible to live a proper life as a good Christian without ever having looked into or even known of the existence of conspiracy theories, but things are changing. Unfortunately, there are things happening in the world today that could influence a person’s or family’s ability to properly discern the truth from the deceptions that are coming forward every day.

That doesn’t mean that you need to start reading alternative news sites or hanging out at conspiracy conferences, but it means that knowing at least a little bit about the deceptions that are here and the potential deceptions that are coming is a prudent move. We will try to warn people on this site about things that we’re shown. We’ve written a few times about the Illuminati, for example, and it doesn’t seem to most to be too far fetched. It’s not like we’re claiming that the moon landing was faked.

For some, the calling will be to take action. Between action and awareness, there is an extremely important warning that must be issued: don’t get caught up in it. Focus strictly on what is important to you as a believer. For example, there is a conspiracy surrounding the idea of a Pre Trib Rapture that Christians should investigate.

Conspiracy theories are a rabbit hole that can take your focus away from things that are truly important. They can become an addiction. This is where remember Romans 12:2 becomes so important for all of us.

There’s another reason to avoid getting wrapped up in them. The adversary uses them. Many of the most prominent conspiracy theory buffs of the world have a conspiracy theory wrapped around them, that they’re promoting a concept of truth and freedom while actually participating (willingly or unwittingly) in the evil efforts of the forces they claim to oppose. Below is a video about Alex Jones and his Infowars show that discusses one example. Pray for him, his following, and his organization that they may start directing their energies and skills towards a Biblical cause.

This isn’t a black and white issue. There are different degrees of culpability and deception that are at play. Focus on your faith, your Father, and your Lord and Savior and you will be prepared for whatever the enemy throws at you.

Conservatives Must Stop Jeb Bush

Between mainstream media and Wall Street influencers, the message being generated is very clear: Jeb Bush is going to be the next moderate Republican to lose a presidential election.

That’s not the message they want you to hear. It’s the message that’s coming through to those who have short memories or misguided motivations. They want you to believe that he’s the man to beat Hillary or whoever the democrats throw out there. They want you to believe that he can pull votes from the center. They want you to think he has all of the good qualities of the previous Presidents in the family but that he has none of their baggage.

They want you to believe he’s the inevitable candidate. The left won’t even try to stop him. They want to run against him. The only ones who can stop him from being the next Romney/McCain/Dole candidate is the conservative end of the Republican party.

Keep in mind that we don’t dislike Bush as a person. He’s probably the best fundraiser in the field. His policies and compromises, however, make him a true danger to America if he were to get the nod.

If Jeb Bush is nominated, one of two things will happen. He will likely lose because, as has been shown in every election since Nixon, those running on a moderate, establishment Republican platform are incapable of winning a general election. Option two is that he could pull off a victory, and that would be even worse than losing.

I said it. I stand by it. Rip into me if you’d like. Jeb Bush would do more damage to the country than the likely Democratic opponents, particularly if a majority is maintained in the House and Senate. Before even announcing his candidacy officially, he has made the types of blunders that would have his brother shaking his head. He is likely the smartest in the family but he’s also the poorest decision maker. He is not a leader. He is not even a good manager.

He’s a Bush. That’s pretty much the only thing he has going for him. America cannot afford to have him in office. The true conservatives are the only ones who can stop him and stop him we must.

Micah 6:8 – ‘walk humbly’

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?Micah 6:8 (KJV)

The instructions the Lord gave us were never hard. From the beginning, He asked us as a caring Father to follow simple rules just as a parent might tell a toddler not to get into the medicine cabinet. We fought His wishes constantly.

He gave us laws to protect us throughout the earliest days of the world and we chose not to follow them. This rebuke by Micah is an example of how simple our instructions were.

Now, our instructions are the simplest possible. Believe on and follow His Son. That’s it. If we can keep this, the easiest of the instructions, then and only then will we walk with Him forever.

If Brian Williams Gets Fired, Hillary Clinton Should Never be President

In the legal world, there is something called precedence. This applies unofficially in the political world as well. With Brian Williams likely finished at NBC due to lies, it should act as a precedence of why Hillary Clinton should never be president.

The left will, of course, discuss how the two incidences in question are completely different. Williams lied at least once and is being investigated for lying about other things that he reported. As a journalist, telling lies about the news is unforgivable. Clinton had an eerily similar lie when she said that upon landing in Bosnia in 1996, they cancelled the landing ceremony and rushed her to her car because of snipers. This was clearly untrue.

To be the leader of the free world, one needs to have a grasp of his or her own activities. They have to demonstrate honesty and competence. If this her retelling of the story in Bosnia was a blatant lie, then she is a blatant liar and should not be in office. If she “mis-remembered” the events in question, then she is incompetent and should not be in office.

Those who believe the “mid-remembered” storyline that her people put out for the world need to really think back to their own activities. I, for one, travel often and couldn’t on a whim tell you all of the places I’ve landed over the past decade. However, if you were ask me to describe one in particular, such as when I landed in Orlando in 2007, I could tell you with pretty good detail what happened and what didn’t happen. It was a longer stay and I had checked bags which took quite a while to come out at baggage claim. Once I finally got them, I exited the airport and was struck by an intense heat and humidity that made me start sweating within seconds. The shuttle was going to be a few minutes, so I grabbed a cab instead.

This wasn’t a particularly eventful landing. Also, I don’t have the crazy schedule or immense responsibilities of a First Lady. However, there is no chance that I or anyone else would confuse sniper fire forcing a rush to the car with the actual ceremony that she received when she landed or the documented poem she received by a local girl. The events as she described and what actually happened are so completely different that “mis-remembering” is a bigger red flag than the concept of her being a liar.

Would you rather have a liar as President or someone who suffers from clear delusions and is prone to go into a fantasy world rather than continue to grasp reality during a simple event such as a plane landing?

Still, we have to deal with precedence. The opinions of the American people are more important than one person’s sense of competence. If Brian Williams is deemed unworthy to hold his powerful, hired position of NBC news anchor, can we really expect Hillary Clinton to be allowed to hold the powerful, elected position of President of the United States given the clear parallels in their storytelling style?

Why We Don’t Accept Donations

Doing the work of the Lord is a calling that we feel is universal. We may be wrong, but we feel everyone who is written in the Book of Life has some sort of calling, whether it’s to reach the masses or to simply solidify their own understanding of the Kingdom of God.

We also feel that the Holy Spirit moves people who are open to do what our Father wants them to do. For us, today, it’s Judeo-Christian Church. As we state in our About Us page, we are not a traditional church. No building. No gatherings online or off as of the writing of this piece. We are on a journey to learn and to share what we learn and for now, that’s all that we feel compelled to do. That may change in the future, but for now we’re exploring the Word and trying to make sense of it all as it applies to modern society and culture.

This is not a profession. Someday, we may make this our full-time endeavor, God willing, but until that day we have nothing through which we could even spend the money that we would receive. Christians feel the need to give their time and money to the causes that move them, whether it’s their church, a charity, or other means through which to tithe. We are not one of those venues.

While we appreciate anyone who has wanted to donate, we cannot accept any money at this time. We are far from rich but there are plenty of people and organizations who have a greater need than we do. As a result, we’re funding our efforts through our personal revenue as well as a small portion of our business revenues.

The best thing that you can do to help is to share what we post here. We do not have advertising on the site and likely never will, but if the teachings we post move you, we strongly encourage you to share it with friends, through social media, and to visit often. Our goal is to post daily, and while there may be times that we miss, we won’t allow that to be an extended period.

1 Corinthians 6:19 – ‘your body is the temple’

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?1 Corinthians 6:19 (KJV)

One of the biggest fallacies that has continued to grow within western society since the middle ages is the concept that we are our own people. The feeling of independence is strong within us and it has been encapsulated into a concept that we must do for ourselves, think for ourselves, and take responsibility for ourselves.

This is a false concept. We belong to God. The notion of independence is romantic. It’s tempting. It has grounds on the surface within common sense, but only if we deny our true natures. When Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, they did so because they denied the idea that they belonged to God and tried to establish their independence.

Today, we’re faced with our own forbidden fruits. One of those is ownership of self. To truly be free, we must be willing to let the Holy Spirit guide us. It goes against modern western thinking that by submitting we can be free, but it’s the truth.

Christians Even More Endangered by Pro-Russian Persecution in Ukraine

The conflict between Ukrainian and pro-Russian revolutionaries in Ukraine has been in and out of the news for a while, but there seems to be an uptick in violence that is specifically targeting Christians and anyone affiliated with the church.

This was addressed during a roundtable held by Mission Eurasia, formerly known as Russian Ministries. During the roundtable, organizers told those involved, including Arizona House Representative Trent Franks.

“I believe that your courage and your commitment to religious freedom will ultimately prevail. God still has his hand on the people of Ukraine,” Franks said at the event.
